Peace
“I hated riding with your dad!” my brother-in-law stated. I knew my dad was an adventurous driver but still I asked, “Why?” “I hate riding with someone who is not afraid to die!” He was not wrong. My father had long ago made his peace with God. That made him unafraid to die. And perhaps… Continue reading

Special People
I first met Joseph* at The Salvation Army in Decatur, Illinois. He was assigned by my father to man the red kettle at the Sears entrance, outside of a long mall. That Christmas, my job was to check on the kettle workers, give them a break, and see if they needed anything. On that cold… Continue reading

Investing in Heaven while Living on Earth
Two and a half years ago, the day I became eligible for Medicare, I took the day off work. And went to three doctors. And took myself to lunch. Owning our own business most of our adult lives, Tom and I had to purchase health insurance for our family of four and we almost went… Continue reading
About Me
Hi, I am an Author and Freelance Writer, Pauline Hylton, I am kind of like a cat—with nine lives. No, I haven’t had an after death experience. But I have lived in eight states and about eleven cities. And no, I don’t have a picture plastered in the post office. I have just experienced a lot in my sixty-seven years.
I am writing this blog to share with you what I feel is really important. The life we have and how we use it. Hope you enjoy!
Cheers!
